Parents, Lincoln needs you! Please consider participating as a member of Lincoln’s English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC). Please join us for our first meeting on Thursday, September 17th, at 8:30am. Meeting information is available here.
What is ELAC?
ELAC is a committee of parents/guardians, staff, and community members. The purpose of the Lincoln ELAC is to provide guidance and advice to the Principal and staff about the needs of students who are learning English as a second language. ELAC helps to develop school-wide needs assessments, helps make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance, and make recommendations to Lincoln’s School Site Council regarding plans for English learners.
Who can attend ELAC meetings?
All Lincoln community members are welcome. For more information on Lincoln ELAC and/or membership, please contact Vy Andrew, Assistant Principal, at vandrew@smmusd.org or Marlene Ramos, Bilingual Community Liaison, at m.ramos@smmusd.org.
