Does your student usually qualify for free or reduced lunch? If so, please read this important update.
While for now ALL students in the district are entitled to free grab-and-go bagged meals, as of December 31st (or earlier if USDA funding runs out before then) only students eligible for free or reduced school meals will be able to participate in the program.
Why is this important?
SMMUSD wants families to submit applications NOW for the free and reduced lunch program so that students don’t miss out when the “free for ALL” program ends.
Having an approved application on file is important for families to ensure seamless service once the “free for ALL” program ends.
Information about the number of students on free and reduced lunch program also helps the district get reimbursement for the program and the data is also used to help schools qualify for Title 1 funding.
What do I need to do?
If your student might qualify for free or reduced lunch, please complete your application here.
