Does your student enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then have them join us and have fun unleashing their inner artist during our Annual PTA Reflections Art Contest!
Entry forms and submission guidelines are at the bottom of the page.
About Reflections
Students create original works of art based on an annual theme. Through their creations, students get to explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, and boost their confidence and love for learning, too. Reflections is open to ALL Lincoln students.
This year’s theme is I Matter Because….
Students can submit works of art in one or all of six categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts.
The contest includes a non-judged Special Artists division, celebrating students with special needs. More information on the Special Artists division.
For inspiration, visit the Reflections virtual art gallery and learn more about prizes and scholarships at PTA.org/Reflections/Awards.
Remember, students can create entries for more than one category. Can’t choose between film and literature? Create a different submission for each!
Submission deadline
The submission deadline is Wednesday, October 21st.
And the winners are…
All submissions will be displayed at our Virtual Reflections Program in November.

Winners of each category will receive some fun new lunch goodies, including a lunch container, a reusable straw, and a collapsible snack container.
Student winners from the local level have an opportunity to move up through the district, region, council and state PTA programs to the national level. National Reflections winners are announced in May and celebrated annually at National PTA’s Convention.
IMPORTANT: Entry form, rules and guidelines
Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form that includes student information and an artist’s statement. Please read the category guidelines and official rules on the entry form. Entries that don’t comply with the guidelines and rules won’t be eligible for judging.
The entry form is electronic and must be completed online, with entries uploaded digitally.
Students are not able to use their smmk12.org account to complete and submit the form because that account does not allow external links. Instead, entry forms must be completed from a different email account (either the student’s personal email account or a parent or guardian’s email account).
In addition to the general guidelines, each category has important guidelines on things like the required length of a music composition or the maximum size of a piece of art. Please have your student read the guidelines!
