Celebrate Black History Month with local resources and activities

Please note: these are not official Lincoln or SMMUSD resources, but items parents are sharing with parents.  Please have your child check Google Classroom for their official work from their teacher.

LA Public Library and the City of Santa Monica has activities and resources to help you celebrate, explore, and discover during Black History Month.

Resources from the LA Public Library include podcasts, photographs, author talks, and of course books and poetry. Find out more.

Activities from the City of Santa Monica include celebrating the Black History Month opening ceremony on Rosa Parks Day, Thursday, February 4th, at 10:30am. The event will feature a discussion by local families highlighting the diversity, identity and history of Santa Monica’s Black community. RSVP required. Find out more about this and other City events.
