Lincoln’s very own Women in STEM Club is organizing socially distanced beach clean ups over the next two weekends. Head down to the beach on Saturday, March 6th, Sunday March 7th, or Saturday March 13th to get some fresh air, help keep our beach healthy, and show the Women in STEM Club your support.
See the flyer for full details and times.
SUPPLIES:
Heal the Bay recommends using reusable items that you can easily wash after use. Please see this video for other great alternatives you might have at home: https://youtu.be/vQzZfGipvxU
SAFETY FIRST:
Please take a moment to view Heal the Bay’s safety video before your beach clean up: https://youtu.be/m41TvuEm4gg .
Need Community Service hours? The beach clean-up qualifies!
TO GET COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS:
Email Emely Garcia at egarcia@healthebay.org attaching:
- your community service form (if applicable)
- photos of your clean-up location before the clean-up. (This can be a selfie at your location)
- a screenshot or photo of your filled out datacard after your clean-up. You can use either the linked pdf, or download the Marine Debris Tracker App. If you’re using the litterati app then a screenshot of your datacard from the app is ok too!
After these steps are completed Heal the Bay will send a signed Heal the Bay community service form.
Have fun and stay safe!
