2021–2022 Equity in Civics Youth Fellowship is Open for 7th-12th Graders

iCivics’ Equity in Civics Youth Fellowship is designed for 7th–12th grade students to learn how to leverage their unique experiences to shed light on the ways in which civic education, civic engagement platforms, and civic institutions can create more inclusive spaces.

During the paid fellowship, students engage in rich discussions together as a group and hear from experts in the field of civic education. They’ll also explore current issues that are relevant to them, while learning social media and public relations skills in order to build awareness amongst their peers and the public on those issues.

The application deadline is July 1st, 2021.

Who Can Apply:

Eligible students must have an interest in politics, civics, history, government, equity, or justice and identify as a:

  • Low-income student
  • Student of color
  • Student from a rural community

Students must complete the student application and also have a teacher/mentor complete a nomination form to be considered.

Learn more about the paid fellowship and the Youth As Civics Experts Network (made up of fellowship alumni and their peers) at: civicsforus.org/
