Apply for School Meal Benefits

District Requests Applications by Families Qualified for Free and Reduced Meals for Funding Purposes

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is requesting families submit the free and reduced meal application so the district may continue to receive funding for programs at our Title 1 schools along with some music programs.

While the USDA has continued free meals for all students through this school year, it is extremely important to take the time to fill out the application so SMMUSD does not have to reduce programming that benefits students.

“We are pleased to participate in the free meal program to ensure all students are ready for in-person instruction and activities,” Superintendent Dr. Ben Drati said. “It is critical for our families who typically qualify or may now qualify for free and reduced meals submit their application to ensure the continuity of important programming.”

Visit the food and nutrition services website for more information.

The free and reduced lunch application is available online.

USDA information on this program can be found online.
