LA County Department of Public Health: Parent Ambassador Program

We know many parents have questions about COVID-19 and the vaccine. Is the vaccine safe for my teenager? What about for my young child? Are my children safe from COVID-19 at school?

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is recruiting parents who want to make a difference in their school communities and neighborhoods by providing an opportunity to learn more about COVID-19, the science behind the vaccines, and how to influence others to help keep everyone around them safe.

The Parent Ambassador Program offers parents a 90-minute education session in which they are providing information from local experts. Each session includes a presentation by a physician from Public Health and an opportunity to ask questions. Participants earn a certificate of completion and will be invited to future learning opportunities.

To end the threat of infection, it will take all of us working together. Parents can play a significant role in protecting their own children, families, friends, and neighbors by sharing accurate information about vaccines, masks, and other safety measures.

To learn more and/or to register for the program, email us at TK12Ambassador@ph.lacounty.gov.
