Cohosted and recorded by Santa Monica Malibu Council of PTAs and League of Women Voters of Santa Monica Education Fund, this SMMUSD Board of Education Candidate Forum took place October 19th 6:30-8:30pm with the following candidates participating: Esther Hickman, Laurie Lieberman, Alicia Mignano, Stacy Rouse, Richard Tahvildaran-Jesswein, Miles Warner.
Since the decisions of elected officials significantly affect the well-being of children and youth, it is a PTA responsibility to disseminate as much factual, objective information as possible during election campaigns to help voters make informed choices. Candidates forums are just one way to provide such information in a nonpartisan, impartial, educational environment. All voters should be encouraged to carefully evaluate each official candidate.
