Need help with Food & Nutrition, Housing, Utility & Internet Discounts? 211 LA is here to help with all of this and more

In collaboration with LA County’s Department of Mental Health and Office of Education, 211 LA is providing outreach, and is connecting families with the resources they need, in efforts to increase families’ resilience, engagement and school attendance and connectedness.

211 LA can help with:

  • Food & Nutrition Assistance
  • Housing Assistance
  • Eviction Protection & Legal Services
  • Youth & Parenting Resources
  • Health & Mental Health Services
  • Discounted Utility & Internet
  • COVID-19 Testing & Resources

211 LA’s program includes a live hotline (call 2-1-1) and online services so that individuals are connected with the information and services they need.

Did you know that SMMUSD is offering an information workshop for families AND those working with families to learn about the community resources available through 211 LA County?

There will be two sessions offered by language:
English session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 24th, 2021 from 5-6pm via zoom.
Spanish session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 24th, 2021 6:30-7:30pm via zoom.

How to Walk, Scoot & Bike to School While Social Distancing

The City of Santa Monica and Safe Routes to School have issued guidance to help kids walk, scoot and bike while safely social distancing.

LMS Safety Protocols Meeting for Distance Learning Plus, Thursday, 3/18 at 5:30pm

Want to learn more information about the safety protocols that’ll be in place as students return to campus for Distance Learning Plus activities? Find out at a virtual presentation on Thursday, March 18th at 5:30 pm. You can register here.

At the meeting, you’ll hear about the screening process and drop-off locations if your child won’t be walking, biking, or skateboarding to school.

Important: Survey Deadline for Spring On-Campus Learning, Sunday 3/15, 5pm

There is the possibility that Lincoln will open up for more in-person learning (beyond Distance Learning Plus) some time after Spring Break. Lincoln therefore needs families to indicate whether students will be participating in the in-person offerings. Please complete the survey to indicate your student’s preferences by no later than 5pm on Sunday, March 14th.

Exciting news! Free Tutoring for SMMUSD students!

Exciting news! SMMUSD is working with a tutoring service called “Paper,” to provide free tutoring for all middle and high school students. Our students and teachers will have access to Paper’s professional tutors for help with any subject any time of day or night, 24/7.

SMMUSD is holding a webinar on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 6 p.m. in English and 6:45 p.m. in Spanish to provide information on this new service launching on March 15.
