Lincoln Theatre is an after-school theatre program for middle school students enrolled at Lincoln Middle School.
A comprehensive program, Lincoln Theatre is designed to teach Lincoln Middle School students the basics of theatre performance and production including workshops in acting, improvisation, singing, movement, costuming, set/lighting, sound design and much more.
Lincoln Theatre students work throughout the first half of the school year rehearsing in a supportive and encouraging environment. Their work culminates in the production and performance of a winter musical.
How is Lincoln Theatre funded?
There is no participation fee. Lincoln Theatre is committed to providing an opportunity for every student who wishes to take part, regardless of financial situation.
LMS Theatre depends on parent and community volunteers, and high school mentors. Only the Creative Team is paid. Donations and grant funding from the Santa Monica Education Foundation, Lincoln PTSA, Lincoln Middle School, as well as LMS Theatre families, community members and local businesses help sustain this quality program.
