About Reflections
Reflections is the National PTA’s arts recognition program, giving students of every skill level a chance to create original work and be recognized for it — outside of grades, outside of competition for a “best” piece, and open to every Lincoln student in grades 6–8. Students may enter in one or more of six categories, choosing whichever best fits how they want to express this year’s theme. Entries are judged locally first, and winning entries can advance from Lincoln to the Santa Monica-Malibu PTA Council, then to the district, state, and national level

- Accessible Arts Division, open to all grade levels – students with disabilities may enter here or in their grade-level division.
A Few Rules to Know
Every entry must be an original work inspired by this year’s theme. Each entry needs a short Artist Statement (100 words max) explaining the work and its connection to the theme. Entries must be the student’s own work — outside of the Accessible Arts Division, adult help or collaboration with other students isn’ t allowed. Photography: the student must take the photo themselves. Film: digital tools can enhance a film, but fully animated entries aren’t eligible. No copyrighted characters or content, beyond incidental use within a larger original work.
How to Submit
Online (preferred): Use the Google Form — it’s the fastest way to make sure your entry and information stay together.
Paper entries: Download here. Submit paper entries at the front office. Keep your original physical artwork for future display and in case it’ s needed for later rounds of judging.

Reflections runs on volunteers. If you or someone you know has experience with children’s arts or performance — a musician, dancer, filmmaker, writer, photographer, or visual artist — we’d love to have them help judge this year’ s entries.
