Hello LMS Families,
We hope you enjoyed the serious family time we all had over the summer. We’re looking forward to being back together as a school community, even if that has to be virtually for now. As we prepare to start school in a couple weeks, undoubtedly there will be challenges – some of that simply setting up schedules within our own households. There’s an African Proverb which states “Smooth Seas do not make Skillful Sailors.” Let’s remember that we’re all in this together and let’s support each other as a community.
Our first PTSA Meeting will take place on Thursday, September 10, at 6:30 PM. We’ll host meetings via Zoom as we start the school year. An agenda will be sent out along with directions on joining us. One item of note will be the budget identifying how we anticipate spending PTSA funds this school year.
Speaking of funds, thank you to those who have already submitted your Direct Investment Donation, Emergency Preparedness Donations and/or became a PTSA Member for this school year. While we won’t be hosting a Back to School Picnic or Movie Nights on the Lawn for now, the PTSA and your contributions will immediately continue to support Classroom Supplies, Technology Supplies and Maintenance, Emergency/First Aid/Cleaning Materials, and On-Line Educational Subscriptions to name a few. We’ll also support in-person needs when we’re able to physically return to campus.
If you would like to make a donation, you can do so at our website or via this link. You can also download our All In One Donation Form and send that back to us via mail. We’ll continue to receive and process mail at the office even while the campus is closed.
We do have a few positions with our PTSA that we are looking to fill. We have openings on the Executive Board as well as multiple Program Chair positions where we need help. Many hands make light work. If you are interested in getting more involved, please contact me.
-VP of Community & School Spirit – Executive Board Position
-Parliamentarian – Executive Board Position
-Reflections National Art Program Chair
-Community Events Chair
-Legislation & Advocacy Chair
-IEP Support Group Chair (working with Lincoln’s Special Ed team)
You can see the full list of open positions on the PTSA website. And don’t forget that there are LOTS of opportunities to volunteer at Lincoln besides on the Executive Board or chairing a committee. Check out all the different parent committees here.
While you’re finishing your Lincoln to-do list, please also consider donating to the Ed Foundation. The flexible funds that Lincoln gets from the Ed Foundation are invaluable in providing programs like mindfulness and anti-bullying, 6th grade camp, musical theatre, and more.
Have a great end to the summer. Be safe, be patient and be kind. If you have any questions or thoughts, send a note at LMSPTSAPresident1501@gmail.com.
Respectfully and humbly,
LMS PTSA President
